Lewis Roca Rothgerber is pleased to announce that D. Douglas Metcalf, a partner in the firm’s Tucson office, was appointed by Gov. Jan Brewer to the Pima County Superior Court. He will serve on the court’s civil bench.
Kenneth Van Winkle, Jr., Managing Partner at Lewis Roca Rothgerber, said that Metcalf’s experience and skills made him an excellent candidate. “Doug and his outstanding legal skills will be missed here at the firm,” he said. “But he will be a great addition to one of our fine judicial institutions.”
Metcalf, a partner in the Litigation Practice Group, joined the firm in 2002, and concentrates his practice in commercial litigation, tax controversy work, employment law, and media law. He has received an AV Rating from Martindale Hubbell and currently serves as a lawyer representative to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He has previously served as a federal prosecutor in the Tax Division of the United States Department of Justice in Washington, D.C., and as a law clerk with the U.S. Tax Court.
