Lewis and Roca has named four attorneys to partnership. The attorneys include Emily Cates (Phoenix), Joel Henriod (Las Vegas), Scott Hoffmann (Reno) and Jasmine Mehta (Reno).
Cates is a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation practice group and focuses her practice on contract-based, business and real estate, litigation and counseling, with a growing focus on class action issues. She represents clients in federal and state court and has trial and appellate experience. Cates earned her J.D. from the University of Arizona and her B.A. from Bowdoin College.
Henriod is a member of the firm’s Appellate practice group. He has participated in briefing over 50 appeals and argued before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Henriod’s practice also focuses on making the trial court record for appeal. He has been invited to join over 20 trial teams to prepare complex, multi-million-dollar cases for trial and to participate during trial to identify and preserve potential appellate issues. Henriod earned his J.D. from Vanderbilt University and his B.A., in Philosophy, from the University of Utah.
Hoffmann is a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation, Construction, Labor and Employment and Pharmaceutical and Medical Device practice groups. His practice concentrates in the areas of commercial, construction, lender liability, and medical device and health care industry litigation. Hoffmann earned his J.D. from the University of the Pacific and his B.A. from California State University, Chico.
Mehta is a member of the firm’s Environmental and Natural Resources practice group. She assists clients in due diligence endeavors regarding the acquisition and sale of water rights and has appeared in hearings before the Nevada State Engineer's Office. Mehta received her J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles and her B.A., in Biology, from Boston University.
